When a large wine and spirits company realized their specialty was on-time distribution of wine and spirits and not fuel management, they called Sokolis Group.
As the wine company’s vice president of operations put it: “Our managers are so busy with day-to-day activities that the purchase of fuel is understandably not atop priority for us.”
Sokolis Group implemented several new fuel savings programs for the client. A major component introduced on-site mobile fueling at many locations. Since the company typically staffs each truck with two people, starting the day with a full tank of fuel eliminated wasted time to fuel during the day. This strategy provided significant labor savings for the client.
Improving bulk fuel purchases was another aspect of the program and Sokolis Group consolidated and managed multiple suppliers to take advantage of aggregated fuel buying.
Through a focused fuel management program, the client has saved over a half million dollars a year on fuel costs. “With Sokolis Group our managers concentrate more on day to day operations and leave the fuel management to the experts. Sokolis Group is our fuel department,” their VP said.
